danger, will robinson, danger

today, i worked a full day and took a later than usual train home.

i'm pretty oblivious because i have the bose noise cancelling headphones on with the music to the limit.

however? i did notice that peeps were strange. some cute guy sat down next to me and despite the train being crowded he abruputly left. then it seemed that everyone kept looking at me!

hmmm? perhaps they're all weird and this is the weirdo train, or maybe they're checking out my new amazon reader, or my sony reader or the julia child book - since i'm reading everything and switching! perhaps i should bring out the mag i have in my bag. oh, if only i did magic tricks, eh? my thinking was fodder for when i see my train friend kopcheck (PH) in the morning. we dish train stories.

the train nears my station, i take off the headphones and put everything away and think: "what the hell is that noise?" is the train falling apart? i was locked into a PATH train this morning.

so, i get off and walk home wondering why the birds are chirping so loud, like there is a nest of them following me. i start to worry, ya know with all the natural disasters that the birds are clued in to some further upcoming earth shattering disaster.

when i step onto the porch it seems that a nest of birds have rooted and now I'M SURE DISASTER IS IMMINENT.

once i'm in the house i call out to the vigilance and ask "what is that noise." she responds: "what noise?" i walk through all three downstairs rooms wondering if one of the thousand detectors are going off or if there is a trapped bird of nests freaking out.

i walk upstairs and realize that the personal alarm one of my clients gave me is sending out an alarm.

no the peeps weren't strange.
the train wasn't falling apart.
no birds have nested in my house.
i have a kopcheck story.

dear dog, somehow my personal alarm had gone off. how embarassing and how freaking funny.
