hair

Jude’s hair started to fall out today. She was crying, and frankly, I had to hold my tears back. She is so strong and wonderful it made me optimistic that she wouldn’t have to go through that trauma, but alas, no.

I reminded her that I told her I’d go bald with her and offered to set up an appointment so we could both shave our heads. (Hey, locks for love would love to get my long hair.) She didn’t want me to do that, and said that another friend who’s a beautician was going to give her a pixie cut. Perhaps I should just go to the salon that does locks for love, cut it all off and show up on her doorstep in an offer of support.

Funny aside: When I was with Jude this weekend, I absent mindedly stroked my face and discovered a 3 inch long facial hair on my cheek. Yes, I had tweezed before I left the house, looked about carefully, and oh the hormones are raging. I have the cure for baldness when the hormones are raging if any scientist wants to know.

Another aside: My alarm did not go off today. My nasal rinse spray wouldn’t work. My earrings refused to fit in the holes. My computer decided to sprout such a life of its own this morning that I had to a restore. The highlight of today was that I tweezed two stubborn hairs from my chin.

It’s only hair, unless it’s a stubborn chin hair or a sudden sprout of growth on the cheek, or baldness. Of course, I have the cure for baldness, damn freaking hormones.
