it would be really nice to hear from you;
unless you were dead; then it'd be scary.
make it public! sign my guestbook.

2005-10-03 - 6:32 p.m. And Then We Ate Meat The boyfried picked the restaurant Mignon for his birthday dinner. What we ate: the freebie bread, butter, steak tartar, then: oysters, clams in garlic butter, tuna carpaccio, scalloped potatoes, sautéed spinach, fried onions, 40 oz. porterhouse steak for 2, and bananas flambé. Oh yeah, and a bottle of wine that we brought since we live in a dry town. It was hard to walk home, I felt so roly-poly. I felt good right up to desert. Walk home we did, because walk to the restaurant we did. These days, I tell the boyfriend I have no desire to cruise around in your “need a muffler car with the bad, very bad, inspection sticker,” and I guess he took it to heart. It still amazes me that he hasn’t been pulled over and ticketed. We did have one night recently we’re I was a little tipsy (what a surprise?) and we talked about buying a Crossfire, but come on. I’m not taking 30K out of my nest egg for a sports car (that I love, that I love!) so foolishly. Personally, I think we should buy a new car, but not my dream car. I have other dreams and desires that seem a little more important. Yesterday, we ate meat, and it was good.
