What Month?

It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, or some related title. I spent a couple few days this month trying to help my dear friend Jude through the recovery of the removal of her breast tumor. Let me tell you, it still pisses me off that patients are sent home same day with a drain they have to deal with for a couple of weeks and no assistance but for the grace of family and friends. We had some laughs, and I’m glad to have been able to be there.

Yesterday, Jude met with the oncologist and got the unexpected news that she needs chemo, starting in about a week. It was a big blow. Luckily, I haven’t used but a day of my vacation so if she needs me I can be available to help her through it. That, and I’m also willing to shave my head and buy pink wigs for both of us if her hair falls out. I’m good like that. Plus? I’ve never had really short hair, so it will be an experience.

I’m thinking all will be okay for Jude. I’m sure of it.
