2006-05-15 - 6:10 p.m. Rolling Mother’s Day weekend was great. It started out with babysitting my nephew on Saturday. I am his godmother after all. We played Sorry, some video games, other shit, and watched a little television until Uncle Tony got up and dressed whereupon we went to the park, then Target to buy more balls and another bat, back to the park, all the rides at the carnival in the park, back to the house for more ball games, and well…keeping my eye on him, because despite the fact that he was our center of attention, he’s always looking to get into something. It’s a little bit stressful, but I’m always happy to do it. My sister had a great time at Wicked and that makes me happy. Yesterday, the vigilance arrived about 10:50AM bearing delicious bagels with plain & sun-dried tomato cream cheese and we had a nice breakfast. After that, we spent hours, and hours going through the boxes of photos I have. She went home with a few, and I picked out a few for friends. We laughed, and loved, and wondered about how strange it is to remember the actual settings of so many pictures after so many years. Hey! I didn’t cry! Close, but no cigar. Sparky gave me flowers and a card during our delving into the past which was sweet, as I know he misses his mom and appreciate how sweet he is to me. We had some dinner and drove the vigilance home. When we dropped her off, she gave me the card she had told me she was waiting to give me. It was beautifully written, well expressed, and made me feel great to be her mother. That girl is going places and I’m so happy for her and proud. In other completely unrelated news since I’m just rolling along. Law & Order was filming in the suite space we rent today, meaning they were filming in at least one office, the reception area and the hallways where my office is located. That’s crazy! I work in suite space, where people are always on the phone in the hallways. It was especially crazy since they didn’t start filming until 1PM and I had to pee right around then, with access blocked unless I wanted Ice-T to allow me into the ladies room during the break in filming in a mad dash. I saw cameras and lights, and waited, then made the mad dash later. There were so many people (crew) and I was all worried about was running into someone, and then? Someone came out of the “Set” room and hit me as I was dashing. So sorry, excuse me, and I kept on, didn’t see the talent, wasn’t really looking; all I wanted to do was pee, and go home early. FUCKERS. It’s an early day for me; the boss is not in town. I kept hearing: “Quiet on the set and Rolling” So I’m rolling along. I’m sure in my dreams tonight I will be hearing: ROLLING.
